Julian Beardman & Josh Ruigrok Help Lead the Eh Team to Gold Division Championships in 12U and 16U

The Calgary Outlaws are proud to recognize two of our own, Julian Beardman and Josh Ruigrok, for their outstanding leadership and coaching contributions at the NARCH Winternationals, where they represented the Outlaws organization while helping guide the Eh Team across multiple age groups.

Both Beardman and Ruigrok travelled to the prestigious tournament to coach the 12U, 14U, and 16U teams, bringing high-level experience, passion, and structure to the bench. With a focus on accountability, teamwork, and fast-paced roller hockey, their impact was felt immediately throughout the event.

Their efforts helped deliver an incredible result for the Eh Team program, as the teams walked away with Gold Division Championships in both the 12U and 16U divisions.

A major part of the Eh Team program’s continued growth and success is also driven by Nick Ruigrok, the General Manager of the Calgary Outlaws, who plays a key leadership role in developing roller hockey locally. Nick leads both the Calgary Roller Hockey program and the South Central Alberta Roller Hockey program, which are the primary programs where athletes are identified and developed to build the Eh Team rosters each season.

Winning at a major tournament like NARCH takes more than talent. It takes preparation, commitment, and leadership under pressure. Julian and Josh brought all of that, setting the standard for what it means to represent the Calgary Outlaws both on and off the rink.

From pre-game planning and bench management to in-game adjustments and maintaining player confidence throughout every shift, their presence behind the bench played a crucial role in the team’s success over the weekend. Just as importantly, they helped create an environment where athletes could compete hard, stay composed, and enjoy the experience of playing at one of the biggest roller hockey stages in North America.

The Calgary Outlaws are proud to have leaders like Julian Beardman, Josh Ruigrok, and Nick Ruigrok helping grow the game and represent the organization at the highest levels. Their commitment to development, culture, and competing the right way continues to push roller hockey forward in Calgary and across Alberta.
